Advanced Songbook for Mobile Devices

This Thesis describes all way from design and implementation to release and advertising of songbook application for Android operation system. The most important goal of the app is the ability to modify lyrics in such way, that they can be viewed flawlessly even on small screens of mobile devices. Application also features many other functions mostly useful for guitar players. User can download lyrics of song with chords directly from app and set up automatic scrolling with different speed for each part of the song. Thesis also describes other important aspects of application development, like user testing and final app release.

The bachelor thesis deals with Michna's songbook Czech Marian Music from 1647. The main goal of the thesis is to describe Michna's life and work in the context of the creation of his first songbook. The insight into the musical structure of Czech Marian music will be completed with literary and language part. The literary analysis should not be overlooked, considering the fact that Adam Václav Michna z Otradovic was not only a musician but above all an excellent poet.
Pedagogue Josef Soukup

The theme of my thesis is the patriotic pedagogue Josef Věnceslav Soukup (1819-1882) whose life was full of feverish activity in the educational system. Moreover he was a prolific author of textbooks (one of his famous is The Technological Natural History) and musical works - we can mention his Wreath of fine songs which includes the song Wayfarer that is known for today. In music he paid attention to carols and Christmas songs and plays as well (the most famous is The Young Shephers of Bethlehem). J. V. Soukup excelled in almost every field, not only in pedagogy and music but also in drawing (he even taught Mikoláš Aleš, the well-known Czech painter), chemistry, technology and cultivation of plants. Moreover he contributed to many pedagogical magazines. The beginnins of his teacher's career were not easy, he strained for an appropriate position and during that time he had hardly anything to eat. He gave private lessons for food and played in pubs with the band of musicians to earn some money. However, as really hardworking and diligent student he got stipendium and thus he had not have any financial problems since that time. He knew K. S. Czech Religious Song in the Liturgy after the Second Vatican Council

This thesis Czech Religious Song in the Liturgy after the Second Vatican Council focuses on the repertoire of songs contained in hymnbooks "Kancionál" (Hymnal), "Mešní zpěvy" (Czech gradual), "Hymny" (Hymns) and "Hymny a básnické modlitby" (Hymns and poetic prayers). Includes theological principles of songs, history of Czech spiritual hymns, analysis of the editorial approaches for songbooks and analysis of the hymns in relation to the requirements of the liturgical renewal documents. The thesis focuses primarily on "Kancionál" (Hymnal), "mešní píseň" (mass song) and singing a song of thanksgiving after Communion. The thesis evaluates compositional approaches for lyrics and music of mass songs.
